Estonian Folklore in modern context.
Are folklore and modernity necessarily the opposite ends of the same spectrum? During my research of Estonian folklore, I was inspired by the fact how Estonians consider technology and folk culture equally relevant parts of their identity. As an experiment, I selected certain characteristic elements from folk tales and beliefs, and depicted them as modern days products — including barcodes, copy writing and full package. The project pictures what would we find on the shelf of supermarkets if the realm of Estonian folklore was in fact reality.
